System Administrator

You understand and enjoy the everyday challenges that are introduced from working in a technologically complex and advanced environment. Ideally you have a proven track record of working with Linux systems and are willing to take the ownership of the areas that are appointed to you.

Your duties and responsibilities as System Administrator in GTECH Finland include monitoring, administration and configuring of systems in a production and test environments. You also maintain integrity of the operating system environment and perform system software upgrades including planning / scheduling, testing, and coordination.

As System Administrator you provide recommendations regarding hardware and systems software. You also perform data backups and recoveries and ensure and maintain the lifecycle and operational continuity of VMware products

Essential skills:
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Linux Administration
  • Systems Administration (backups, monitoring, hardware installations etc..)
  • Can do attitude and strong planning as well as hands on skills
Beneficial skills:
  • IBM PowerVM Virtualisation
  • RPM packaging experience
  • Experience of different production monitoring tools
  • Good documentation skills
  • SME in one or more of the following: Vmware, Linux, Ldap, Legato, SAN/SVC, Storages, BMC
